UK Tour goes from strength to strength

12/June/2005 - 23:59

Ben Folds, Lindsay Jamieson and Jared Reynolds play at The Lowry in Manchester, June 11th 2005Ben and the boys proved last night (11th June) that just because a venue is seated doesn't mean you can't rock it out.

The auditorium at the Manchester Lowry was treated to a 28 song set, chock-full of stories, improvisation, and full-on good old fashioned piano-bashing. The band were tighter than ever, and the excellent mixing by the sound crew kept everything loud and clear. Ben commented that the piano he had (a Steinway B) was 'the best he'd played all tour' (and that he planned to steal it) and honoured requests throughout his solo set in the middle, finishing with a two-verse version of 'Purple Haze'.

I've written up a review of the evening, as well as posted some photographs from the show and a recording of 'Purple Haze' and 'Trusted' coutesy of Deano. Thanks dude!

If you get a chance to see them again this tour, you'd be a fool not to.
